LIVing Monster High

 I don't know why it took me so long to really think about it, but I have LIV dolls that wear wigs and the MH Create a Monsters have wigs... why not see if the LIV fit? Well - they do! It doesn't exactly work the other way around though. I'm not one to cut the pegs off the wigs, I think it helps them and since the MH:CaM have a hole in the backs of their heads too - it works!

The Heads:

LIV Wig - Short round peg (Fits the square hole just fine!)

The only issue seems that the girls with ears do have the
LIV cap cover them slightly. I have no issue with this as I'm not
really looking at the ears and the hair would cover it anyway.

I have also heard Moxie Teenz wigs will work, but I have yet to test this theory. I always wanted to get the Moxie Teenz Tristan doll, but the one I want is no longer sold in stores around here. Ah maybe I'll find a wig somewhere. As a plus I do know for A FACT that Moxie Teenz shoes fit Monster High dolls!!

Finally! Oh Sweet relief!

So I *FINALLY* got my Debut Delilah! You cannot believe how pissed I've been over the whole freaking ordeal with getting her. She was ordered on December 4th - Shipped the 5th(my birthday mind you so it's not likely I can forget!) and somehow got refused twice and sent back to the seller on December 24th - found out about the whole mess on January 4th....
[This is what I wrote on facebook about it - Freaking post office!!! Only 1 person working, 50 people in line and they don't have a friken clue! I ordered a doll on eBay at the beginning of December - still haven't got it so I contacted the seller - she gives me the delivery confirmation # and SOMEHOW the post office marked the package as refused - twice! So it was already sent back to the seller a week ago. How was it refused?? I was never given the damn package!]
That last sentence is completely accurate - the package was NEVER delivered to my house even though it had the correct address and everything - and then onward to repaying postage on Jan 5th and having it sent BACK to me - only to have this shit happen again!  But today[Jan 12] finally something has gone right!!! We had to pay another $10 to have it sent BACK to me - only to have it listed as refused again yesterday! So I talked to my mailman (Fred the mailman!) today, only he tells me he never had a package for me yesterday! I went down to the post office again today to talk to a supervisor about it and he found my package!! It was all set to go back to the seller AGAIN except I got lucky cause the truck hadn't left yet!! Yay! I've been waiting since the 5th of December to get her! I was so happy about him finding my doll that I actually started crying! I know - super dork - but I was so frustrated by everything and finally had the relief of bringing her home!!

I have already made her a new wig - I took a bunch of pictures of her all dressed up in her outfits - with each wig. Also I made sure to dress Ellowyne in them too lol. I can't help it! El looks so good!

Even more wigs!

I'm really into making these wigs! I have finished my 4th wig - this one for Mina.
I decided to go with a completely red one. I have zero hair cutting experience so I know her bangs must look a bit uneven. I still love it anyway!

This time it's Delilah who got a new wig! I'm still waiting for the next batch of wig caps from my MIL to do a few more wigs, both for Mina and Delilah. I'm so happy to show off this new wig! Delilah really likes it, and so do I.

I'm calling it Vampire Special - I dunno why, but it sounds neat.

Shining, Gleaming, Streaming, Flaxen, Waxen... wigs

So I found this website that has a tutorial on how to make doll wigs - Antique Lilac
I am quite happy because this means I can make some wigs for my dolls - only problem? I can't crochet. Oh I've tried, but I can't seem to understand the mechanics of it! lol So I cam up with a second solution - get my mother-in-law to crochet it! Seems to work :) I got her to crochet the wig cap(in which took her all of 5 minutes to make!) and I bought some wigs on sale after Halloween. Once I got around to it I found I can make some pretty nice wigs for Mina. Now I need to get my mom-in-law to make a few more caps(I only had 2, didn't want to overdo it just in cast I sucked at it.) since I made both wigs.

This is the first wig: The original wig was a bit mangled, but I managed to work it out pretty well. As long as it's tied it seems to work well. The wig cap was white, but it doesn't show through so no worries.

Now the second wig is a dream come true! Since I had done the first wig, I knew what to do a little different and mostly how to get it to sit better. I rushed a little with the first one and was afraid to trim it in spots, but this one - not so much. I love, love, love it!
